(4107) Rufino is a main belt asteroid discovered on April 7, 1989 by the American astronomer Eleanor Helin from the Palomar Observatory .

The asteroid was named after Rufus J. Walker , a US doctor and head of the medical team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory .
