(4443) Paulet is a main belt asteroid discovered on September 10, 1985 by the Belgian astronomer Henri Debehogne at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809) of the European Southern Observatory in Chile .
The asteroid was named on August 31, 2012 after the Peruvian scientist Pedro Paulet (1874–1945), who in 1895 built a rocket motor powered by liquid fuel .
