(60) Echo is a main inner belt asteroid discovered on September 14, 1860 by the Scottish-born astronomer James Ferguson .
The celestial body was initially named "Titania", not knowing that this name was already given for a Uranus moon . The celestial body was therefore renamed after Echo , a nymph from Greek mythology .
