(6031) Ryokan is an asteroid of the main belt , the Japanese from the January 26, 1982 , astronomers Hiroki Kosai and Kiichiro Furukawa at the Kiso Observatory ( IAU code 381) in Kiso was discovered.

The asteroid was named after the Zen Buddhist monk Ryōkan (1758–1831), who became famous under the stage name Taigu in the fields of poetry and calligraphy .
