(6336) Dodo is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 21 October 1992 by the Japanese astronomer Satoru Ōtomo in Kiyosato in Yamanashi Prefecture was discovered.

It was named on July 28, 1999 after the dodo , an extinct, flightless bird from the island of Mauritius .
