(7655) Adamries is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on December 28, 1991 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian State Observatory Tautenburg ( IAU code 033) in Thuringia .
The celestial body was named on August 18, 1997 after the German arithmetic master Adam Ries (around 1492–1559), who wrote several arithmetic books in German and is considered the "father of modern arithmetic".
