(8001) Ramsden is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 4 October 1986 by Czech astronomer Antonín Mrkos at Kleť Observatory ( IAU code was discovered 046).
The celestial body is named after the English optician and inventor Jesse Ramsden (1735–1800).
