(8028) Joeengle is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 30 August 1991 by the British - Australian astronomer Robert McNaught at the Siding Spring Observatory ( IAU code 413) in Australia was discovered.

The celestial body was named on February 7, 2012 after the former US astronaut Joe Henry Engle (* 1932).
