The 1991/92 season of the 1st Slovenská národná hokejová liga (1st SNHL for short; German: 1st Slovak National Ice Hockey League) was the 23rd staging of the second ice hockey division in Czechoslovakia . Champion of the league was AC Nitra , which failed in the promotion relegation to Motor České Budějovice and ŠKP PS Poprad . Sparta ZVL Považská Bystrica rose from bottom of the table in the 2nd SNHL and was replaced by the VTJ Senica .

mode

The game mode provided for two double rounds of 22 games per team, i. H. Two home and two away games against every other participant. The total number of games per team was 44 games in the season. Then the first in the table qualified directly for the promotion relegation, while the bottom of the table was relegated directly to the third division.

Promotion relegation

In the promotion relegation, the last two of the two groups in the 1st league and the winners of the 1st SNHL and 1st ČNHL met in the best of five mode. There was another relegation between the two Slovak representatives for promotion and relegation, while the loser of the Czech duel was relegated or promoted directly.
