action

The unequal journalist couple Jennifer Stevenson and Mark Webb go on a search for the mysterious tear killer who always strikes every few years and then disappears again. When they investigate an apartment block in which the serial killer had raged, they come across it. One survivor says the killer looks like a clown . However, the completely incompetent police cannot help them.

On the fringes of a fair they learn the story of the murderer from a midget : Luther was actually a very nice guy who started a love affair with a female fan. Her friend, who was messing with the show's powerhouse, sowed discord between the two colleagues. She claimed that Luther raped his girlfriend. Angry, the muscleman beat Luther up and tried to kill him. Luther then took on the role of the clown "Gurdy" again and killed him and his girlfriend. His own pregnant girlfriend fled and hid in town. Gurdy is now looking for his girlfriend and their daughter.

While the two journalists continue their research, Luther visits the midget to kill him too. The latter succeeds in buying himself out through the information about the whereabouts of Luther's ex-girlfriend. Luther visits his teenage daughter, who has already killed her mother, because his daughter Christine has followed in his footsteps and has already started murdering as a “smiley killer”. The two hide in a warehouse and wait for new victims. Frightened, the midget calls the two journalists for help. They alert the police, but decide to look for the two on their own. There is a confrontation in the warehouse. The two moronic policemen and Mark die too. Christine kills her father and escapes. On her escape, she is run over by Jennifer.

criticism

The film received mostly negative ratings. The weak story and the unreliable actors were particularly emphasized. In addition, many critics saw the splatter effects as an end in themselves.

100 Tears” should disappoint splatter fans and average moviegoers alike. Patient fans of trash horror will be bored waiting for the next slaughter in view of the annoying subplot, everyone else better use the return policy of their mail order company and instead get one of Rob Zombie's slasher strips ( House of 1000 Corpses , The Devil's Rejects ).
