action

The lifeguard Alex is on duty at the beach. In 1916 it was good form among the population to bathe in the sea. Unexpectedly, a swimmer gets into trouble and Alex saves him. However, the victim has an exceptionally large wound on the leg and dies. Everything points to a shark attack, but those responsible in the city deny this for fear of economic damage. The beach remains open without restrictions. Alex is offended and is sure that it is a shark. His friend, old Captain Cap, believes that the shark attack was due to the unusually warm ocean currents.

The next time he goes to the beach, one of Alex's lifeguards swims to two boys who are too far from the beach. After sending her back, he is clearly attacked by a shark, losing both legs and dying. After a security fence has been erected in the sea, the beach is released as safe again.

A few days later, Cap accidentally discovers a large shark swimming from the sea into the city's canal. He tries to warn the population. Even so, the shark can attack and kill a boy while bathing. After a rescue attempt, Stanley, the fiancé of Alex's former girlfriend, also dies. On the way back into the sea, the shark attacks another boy who is bathing, but he can be saved seriously injured.

The population is in great excitement and the hunt for the shark begins. With the participation of Cap and Alex, a great white shark can be caught in the open sea. When the shark is opened, human bones and scraps of cloth are found. After the warm current had subsided, no more sharks could be seen near the coast.
