Colin Egglesfield (born February 9, 1973 in Farmington Hills , Michigan ) is an American actor . He is best known for his role as Dr. Josh Madden in All My Children and for the role of Auggie Kirkpatrick in Melrose Place .

Life

Colin Egglesfield was in Farmington Hills in the US state of Michigan born as the second child of Kathleen and William Egglesfield. He has an older sister named Kerry and a younger brother named Sean. He grew up in the greater Detroit area before moving with his family to Crete, a small town south of Chicago , at the age of ten .

His dream was to follow in the footsteps of his father, who works as a doctor. At the same time he developed an interest in acting. After graduating from Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights , he began studying medicine at the University of Iowa . During this time he made a backpack tour of Europe and started working as a model . At the insistence of his friends, he took part in a modeling competition and won it, after which he dropped out of his studies and began a career as a photo model. He worked for Versace , Calvin Klein and Armani .

His acting career began with guest appearances on well-known television series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , The $ treet - Who offers more? , Gilmore Girls , Charmed - Magical Witches and Nip / Tuck - Beauty has its price . He also made a seven-second appearance in Looking for a Woman with a Dog ... A Man with a Heart . He also had a small role in SWAT - The Special Forces .

From September 25, 2005 to September 9, 2008, he played the role of Joshua "Josh" Madden in the soap opera All My Children . In the same year he also worked in the novel by Nora Roberts , Carnal Innocence . In December 2011, he received the lead role as Evan Parks in the lifetime television series The Client List , in which he appeared in 25 episodes between 2012 and 2013.
