Third Punic War
- Beginning of the Third Punic War
- Micipsa becomes king of Numidia after the death of his father Massinissa , but under pressure from the Roman general Scipio Aemilianus, his brothers Gulussa and Mastanabal have to participate in the government. The alliance between Numidia and the Roman Republic continues, and Micipsa supports the Romans in the 3rd Punic War against Carthage .
- The army of the Carthaginian general Hasdrubal inflicts heavy losses on the Roman legions under Consul Manius Manilius.
