Eastern Mediterranean
- Ptolemy III Euergetes of Egypt introduces a leap day for every fourth calendar year with his canopic decree . The leap day is the sixth Epagomen day at the end of the year. After some time, however, this regulation is abolished again by the politically strengthened priesthood. This (sensible) regulation was only taken up again by Sosigenes from Alexandria and used for the ("Julian") calendar reform of Gaius Julius Caesar in 46 BC. . Chr harnessed.
