171st Reserve Division (Wehrmacht)

The 171st Reserve Division was a German infantry division during World War II . The division was set up on October 1, 1942 in the occupied Netherlands and stationed in the Arnhem area. In February 1943 the division was relocated to Dixmuiden in Belgium . On November 23, 1943, the 171st Reserve Division was reorganized and renamed the 48th Infantry Division .
