147th Reserve Division
The 147th Reserve Division was set up in Augsburg on October 1, 1942 from Division No. 147 and Division No. 407 , formerly Division zbV 407 , replaced the replacement division in Wehrkreis VII. It operated in the Ukraine until January 1944 and the division was encircled near Zwiahel and relocated to the Eastern Front after a loss-making break from the pocket . There the division was destroyed very quickly due to insufficient combat experience / training. The survivors were used, among other things, to set up the 363rd Infantry Division and the 394th Field Training Division .
