1911 Revolution ( Chinese  辛亥革命 , Pinyin Xīnhài Gémìng ) is a 2011 Chinese war film by Jackie Chan and Zhang Li , based on the events of the Xinhai Revolution . The release date for the USA was October 7, 2011. In Germany , the film was released on February 24, 2012 on DVD and Blu-ray .

Early 20th century: The Chinese Empire is split up and is ruled by the 7-year-old Puyi or his mother. The citizens are in need and long for the end of the 250-year-old Qing dynasty . When Huang Xing returned from Japan, he joined revolutionary leader Sun Yat-sen to overthrow the dynasty.
