200 Things was a German pop band with punk and NDW influences from Wiesbaden .

history

Katta Verse (Katja Aujesky) 2013

The band was formed in 2003. Three of the members, namely drummer Uzi Mayer , bassist Lefty Luv and guitarist Tob Le Rone , had previously played together in the band I saw Elvis . Other members were Fabi Feuer (guitar) and Katta Strophe (vocals), who had also made music together before. In the same year the band signed a contract with the management company Oh my sweet .

The self-titled first EP of 200 things was released in 2004. It was received differently by the critics. While Joachim Hiller described the lyrics as the lowest hit level and the singer's voice as "penetrating" and "unpleasant" in Ox-Fanzine , his colleague Kalle found silence that the record was "entertaining" and "over much too quickly". In the film Autobahnraser , a song by the band was used as part of the soundtrack.

In 2005 the band signed a record deal with Sony BMG . In the same year the single Ganz Neu was released there .

The following year was the most successful of 200 things. On February 9, the band recorded the song champagne for breakfast as a representative of Rhineland-Palatinate on the Federal Vision Song Contest in part. There she took only twelfth place, but became known to a larger audience. One day later, the album Reich und Schön was released , which - like the single Sekt zum Breakfast - was able to place in the German charts. In his review of the record in Ox-Fanzine, Tom van Laak described the music of 200 things as "the fastest pop that Germany has to offer". Intro magazine rated the album as “pleasing” but “not competitive outside the charts”. In 2006 the band gave concerts all over Germany, including at the Rocco del Schlacko Festival , as well as in Austria and Switzerland.

In the summer of 2006 the band broke up. Since then, the members have been active in various projects. Katta Strophe founded the Katjas Bazar project under her real name Katja Aujesky together with a friend . Tob Le Rone played bass with Joachim Germany after the dissolution of 200 things and worked on Uzi Mayer's solo project. Fabi Feuer has also started a solo project and is also active in other bands, including the punk band Kotzreiz . Lefty Luv worked on an album by former I-saw Elvis member Amri Pardo and also writes his own songs.
