20xx - The Quiz is a quiz show of the ARD , which is designed as an annual review and an annual one evening between since 2008 Christmas and New Year's Eve will be broadcast. The game show is moderated by Frank Plasberg and regularly reaches audience ratings of around 20 percent. It is produced by Günther Jauch's company i & u TV and recorded about two weeks before it is broadcast.

Course of the game

Four prominent guests play for money for the good cause they have chosen. The moderator asks the questions and gives the possible answers. For each correct answer, the candidates get 500 euros credited to their account. In action games, especially in the finals, there are higher profit levels. The moderator occasionally gives additional bonuses for original contributions by the candidates.

Candidates

Two women took part in the 2010 and 2015 editions, and one woman each in the other years. Günther Jauch was a permanent participant in all twelve editions , followed by Jan Josef Liefers (nine), Barbara Schöneberger (eight) and Oliver Pocher (three participations). With the then Prime Minister of Lower Saxony and later Federal President Christian Wulff in 2008 and the Deputy FDP Chairman Wolfgang Kubicki in 2013, politicians were twice candidates for the program. The transmission time was increased from initially two hours and 15 minutes (2008) to three hours and 30 minutes (2019).
