Politics and world events
- Aratos of Sicyon seizes the Corinthian fortress of Acrocorinth , where a Macedonian garrison is stationed , in a night attack . Thereupon the city of Corinth turns against Antigonus II Gonatas of Macedonia and joins the Achaean League . In Lechaion, the port of Corinth, Aratos captures 25 Macedonian ships. Now Megara , Troizen and Epidauros join the rebellion and the covenant. This invades Attica, as Athens continues to be on the side of Antigonos.
- In the Third Syrian War , Ptolemy conquered Polemarchus, the commander of King Ptolemy III. , the coast of Thrace . Soon afterwards, however, he lost a sea battle against Antigonus II Gonatas and was murdered by his own soldiers in Ephesus .
