The 25th Division ( Japanese 第 25 師 団 , Dai-nijūgo Shidan ) was a division of the Imperial Japanese Army , which was established in 1940 and disbanded in 1945. Your Tsūshōgō code (military code name) was Land Division ( 国 兵 団 , Kuni-heidan ).

History of unity

The 25th Division was on 10 July 1940 the command of Lieutenant General Kuwahara Shiro as Type A "reinforced" Division as Triangular Division set up and consisted of the 25th  Infantry - Brigade (14th, 40th and 70th  Regiment ) and the 75th  cavalry regiment, 25th division mountain artillery group and 25  pioneer - and transport regiment. The headquarters of the 15,000-strong division was in Mudanjiang , Manchuria and was under the 5th Army ( Kwantung Army ).

In March 1945, in anticipation of the expected Allied landing , the division was transferred to Japan , where it was subordinate to the 16th Regional Army and was disbanded in September 1945 without being involved in combat operations.
