use

3-Amino-1,2-propanediol is used as a starting material for the synthesis of lipid-like compounds for RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutics. It is also used to make cationic α-helical polypeptides and various cationic polymers for gene transfer . It is used in the synthesis of iodixanol , iohexol , iomeprol , iopromide and other non-ionic X-CT contrast media and is used as a starting material in the manufacture of special materials.
