The 332nd Infantry Division was a major unit of the army of the German Wehrmacht during World War II .

Division history

The division was set up on November 15, 1940 as part of the 14th wave of deployment in Güstrow in Wehrkreis II (Stettin) . From the summer of 1941 she was stationed as part of the 7th Army in Brittany in occupied France . Even after being assigned to the 15th Army, she remained in northern France on the English Channel until winter 1942/43 . Then she was moved to the Eastern Front to Army Group South . In the summer of 1943 she fought in the Kharkov area . In July, she took the 4th Panzer Army on Operation Citadel part. Last used at Poltava , the division was disbanded in September 1943.

Part of the remaining team was integrated into the 576 Infantry Division with the retained designation Grenadier Regiment 676 , including the former division commander Trowitz. The other, larger part was initially placed under the 255th Infantry Division . However, this suffered heavy losses within a few weeks, so was incorporated into Corps Department B and ended up with this in the pocket near Cherkassy .
