background

The name of the mixtape is Lucas's phone number. The entire mixtape consists of 16 songs. In an interview with HotNewHipHop, Joyner spoke about how the project came about:

“This project took two years in the making, there's a lot of records that I scrapped, start over, scrapped, start over. There's records that I've made from the very beginning two years ago that I still kept on the project now. So there's a lot of old mixed with new but it's all cohesive ”

“The project lasted over two years, a lot was discarded, started over, discarded and started again. There are even songs that were recorded at the beginning of the project and made it onto the record. So there is a lot of old mixed with new, but everything is connected. "

content

The mixtape is about psychological problems, especially the songs I'm Sorry and Literally . Often the beginning or the end of a song is marked with a Voice Mail Joyners saying that he is currently unavailable. Often you can also hear a voice mail from a woman who is supposed to represent his girlfriend.

Ultrasound is the first song on the mixtape. It begins and ends with the aforementioned Joyner voice mail. Lucas raps here about rap and the status of other rappers. The title refers to the fact that he can see through them all, like an ultrasound . Lucas is also tired of the other rappers, mainly because they want free features. He sarcastically says that he will now imitate the "real gangstas" and will therefore buy weapons and drugs. This is supposed to be directed against Mumble rappers who would only be "fake" for him.

Lucas talks about his new success in rap in Lovely . He never talked about his success as much as he did on this mixtape.

The song FYM was already performed live by Joyner Lucas, only the chorus was different. The original version didn't include a feature with Mystikal either .

In Keep It 100, Joyner Lucas raps about money. The symbol for this is the $ 100 bill. For him money is the origin of evil and how the world is built on money. Everyone's goal would be money only.

With Winter Blues, Lucas draws attention to poverty and its possible consequences. He talks about a man who has lost everything and now has to face poverty too. He decides to rob stores to get some money.

In the single Just Like You , Lucas makes it clear that he doesn't want to be like his "heroes". Instead, he wants to find his own way and be better. The song changes several times between the perspectives of a little boy and girl. It makes it clear that you don't have to grow up like your "heroes" to be successful or good.

The beginning of a relationship found its place in Just Because . The mood had burst, you couldn't feel anything for the other person and everything became predictable. Both would not really be mentally linked. There is also violence in the relationship; the friend's personality has changed a lot since the relationship began.

Lullaby is rapping from a woman's perspective . She ponders about their comforting behavior and how it changes their relationships the older and worse they get. Each stanza tells of a relationship.

In Way To Go , Joyner talks about the people who left him behind. At the same time, he sarcastically says that he sees disappointment in himself.

The relationship dispute between two people is addressed in Look What You Made Me Do.

We Gon Be Alright tells of two lovers who, despite their difficult relationship status, have gone through all hardships and will go.

Joyner Lucas also dedicated a song to his son, Forever . He knows that his son would not understand him, but nevertheless hopes that his son will forgive him for the abortion he once wanted.

In I Need More is about a person who speaks negatively about another rich person. Joyner wants to say what those around him probably think of him since he now has the money. Materialistic possession also makes you obsessed with wanting more.

The fight between a person and his penis is discussed in literally . His penis affects him negatively, for example that he always becomes stiff as soon as he looks at a woman. His penis itself also criticizes that it is only "played" with and that the testicles get all the "fun". This is followed by a call from his doctor who tells him that he has a sexually transmitted disease . He hopes he didn't infect his girlfriend. Ultimately, he castrated himself with the help of a knife. At the end, an email was heard from the national suicide prevention hotline.

I'm Sorry is raped from two perspectives. In the first part, Joyner Lucas rapsfrom the perspective of someone at risk of suicide. He writes a suicide note before killing himself with a gun. Then it's Joyner's turn. In an angry voice, Lucas raps about his friend's suicide. He wonders why he did this and how he is now above.

The last song, One Lonely Night, begins with Joyner's voice mail. This is about a woman who has apparently been left alone by her friends and is now calling Lucas about it.
