biography

AJ Hurt grew up on Lake Tahoe , California , learned to ski in Squaw Valley, and joined the Squaw Valley Ski Team at the age of four . Due to outstanding performances in the U16 category, she was accepted into the national training group at the age of 14. In August 2016, she first took part in FIS races in New Zealand . The first appearances in the Nor-Am Cup followed in December of the same year, where they immediately drove into the points. A preference for the fast downhill and super-G disciplines became apparent early on, but progress was also made in the giant slalom. Four days after her first victory in the Nor-Am Cup, she made her debut in the World Cup on November 25, 2017 and reached 45th place in the giant slalom in Killington . Two weeks later, she won a second Nor-Am race, which made her third in the giant slalom discipline ranking. At the end of the 2017/18 season, she won two US championship titles in giant slalom and combined .

At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, AJ Hurt had a winning streak in the Nor-Am Cup. Within a week she won five races in three different disciplines. In the further course of the winter ten podium places were added. This ultimately resulted in second place in the overall ranking as well as victory in the downhill and combined rankings. She won silver in the team competition at the 2019 Junior World Championships in Val di Fassa .
