action

Raj comes from a wealthy family and is an engineer by profession, where he actually preferred to be a poet. At the request of his father, Raj should fulfill his late mother's last wish. That's why he gets in touch with Chandra. She is the daughter of a good friend of his father's. So he writes her letters full of love and poetry. But Chandra doesn't feel like answering and gives her younger sister Neelu the task. Moved by Raj's words, she builds a pen pal under Chandra's name. At the same time, they decide to visit and meet halfway through. After a few misunderstandings, the puzzle clears up and they fall in love.

After so much luck, fate strikes from its unpleasant side: Raj is, like his mother once, ill with tuberculosis and will die within the next two years. Because of this, he wants to stay away from Neelu and befriends Chandra. He does everything so that Neelu no longer loves him. He even asks his friend and doctor Kailash to marry Neelu.

In the end, however, both find each other again and celebrate a splendid wedding.

music

The soundtrack was composed by the Shankar-Jaikishan duo . The lyrics are from Shailendra and Hasrat Jaipuri .

Reviews

The story may not be the most original, the staging may not be the most sensational - but fun is guaranteed, not only because of the chemistry of Raj and Nargis, but also because of the freshly staged first half of the film - which equally to Cyrano de Bergerac and the later Mujhse Dosti Karoge remembers.
