Shankar-Jaikishan (also known as SJ) were an Indian musical duo of Hindi film . Shankar Singh Raghuvanshi (born October 5, 1922 in Punjab ; † April 26, 1987 ) and Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal (born November 4, 1929 in Vansda , Gujarat ; † September 12, 1971 ).

history

Shankar Jaikishan worked together as a composer from 1949 to 1971. Her early works include Awaara, Aah, Shree 420, Basant Bahar, Halaku, Patita, Kathputli Anari, Chori Chori, Daag, Baadshah, Boot Polish, and Ujala. They were the "house composers" for RK Films and for pay-roll until the end.
