Career

society

In his home country he played street football, where he was noticed by the talent scouts of the Stella Club Adjamé , where he played from 1980 to 1984. In 1985 he moved to ASEC Abidjan , but that period lasted only six months before he moved to one of the strongest European leagues at FC Metz in France . Two years later he moved to Portugal to Sporting Braga . Traoré made his debut in the Primeira Divisão on September 7, 1986 against Rio Ave FC . The then Braga coach Humberto Coelho changed his new signing in the half-time break for Sérgio Saucedo . In total, he came to six appearances for the Portuguese club in the first half of the season. In the second half of the season, Traoré was no longer considered. After a year he returned to France and signed with FC Sète , a year later Traoré then transferred to Sporting Toulon . But Traoré struggled to assert himself, so in 1989 he returned to the Ivory Coast to join ASEC Abidjan. Here he shone and very quickly became the crowd favorite of the yellow and black. He describes his fondest memory of that time as follows: " Asante Kotoko beat us 2-1 in Abidjan. And to qualify for the semi-finals of the African Champions League, we had to beat them, whatever the cost. And On that day I scored two decisive goals that secured ASEC victory. We defeated Kotoko 3-2. On that day, Philippe Troussier carried me around in triumph. I will never forget this picture. "

Before Traoré ended his active career in 2001, he moved to Saudi Arabia in 1995 .
