Abdul Jeleel Ajagun (born February 10, 1993 in Lagos , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian football player who currently plays for KV Kortrijk .
Career
society
Abdul Jeleel Ajagun began his career in the youth department of Dolphins FC , a club based in Port Harcourt in southeastern Nigeria. In 2009 he received a professional contract and moved to the men's department of the club. There he was under contract until 2013 and made a total of 92 first division appearances in which the offensive midfielder was able to score 39 goals. In 2011 he won the Nigerian championship with his club . In the summer of 2013 Ajagun signed a four-year contract with Panathinaikos Athens and moved to the Greek Super League . From there it was awarded to Levadiakos and Roda Kerkrade in 2016 and 2017 respectively. He then moved to KV Kortrijk in Belgium . He spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan with Omonia Nicosia .
National team
Ajagun took part in the 2009 World Cup with the U-17 national team of Nigeria , where they finished second after a 1-0 defeat in the final against Switzerland . During the tournament he was one of the regular players on his team and scored two goals. With the U-20 selection , he took part in two Africa Cup championships in 2011 and 2013, of which he was able to finish the 2011 tournament with his team as the winner. In 2013 he also took part in the U-20 World Cup in Turkey, where he made it to the round of 16 with Nigeria. Outstanding was his personal performance in the group game against Portugal, in which Ajagun scored two goals.
