Abdulaziz Xofizovich Komilov (Cyrillic Uzbek Абдулазиз Хофизович Комилов; Russian Абдулазиз Хафизович Камилов Abdulaziz Kamilov Chafisowitsch * 16th November 1947 in Yangiyo'l , Uzbek SSR , Soviet Union ) is an Uzbek politician.

Abdulaziz Komilov first completed a university degree in the 1960s and later studied (until 1978) at the Diplomatic Academy of the Soviet Foreign Ministry. In 1980 he completed a postgraduate course at the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR from. He is a candidate for historical studies.

Since 1972 Komilov worked alternately in the Middle East Department of the Soviet Foreign Ministry in Moscow and at the Soviet embassies in Syria and Lebanon . After the collapse of the Soviet Union , he first worked at the Uzbek embassy in Moscow. In 1992 he returned to Uzbekistan, where he was Deputy Director of the National Security Service. From April to August 1994 he was first deputy foreign minister and from August 1994 to March 2003 he was foreign minister of Uzbekistan. After his replacement by Sodiq Safoyev , he was briefly advisor to Uzbek President Islom Karimov and was appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the USA in August 2003 , which he remained until 2010. On January 13, 2012 he was again Foreign Minister.
