Muchtar Beskenuly Tileuberdi ( Kazakh Мұхтар Бескенұлы Тілеуберді , Russian Мухтар Бескенулы Тлеуберди Muchtar Beskenuly Tleuberdi ; * the 30th June 1968 in Belyje Vody , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh diplomat and politician. He has been Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister since September 2019.

Life

Muchtar Tileuberdi was born in 1968 in Belyje Wody . He graduated from the Kirov State University of Kazakhstan with a degree in philosophy in 1991 . After graduation, he completed internships at the Institute for African and Asian Studies at Lomonosov University in Moscow and at the Institute for Linguistics at Yonsei University .

He began his professional career in 1993 as an attaché in the Kazakh Foreign Ministry , where he initially worked in the Department for Asian States. Between 1996 and 1999 he was embassy secretary at the Kazakh embassy in Seoul, South Korea. He then returned to the Foreign Ministry, where he worked in the Asia, Middle East and Africa Department and later headed the Bilateral Cooperation Department. Between 2000 and 2001 he was an advisor in the Kazakh presidential administration and then Tileuberdi was an advisor at the embassy in Israel . In July 2003 he became Deputy Foreign Minister and from August 2004 he was sent to Malaysia as Ambassador . He headed the diplomatic mission in Kuala Lumpur for almost five years before being appointed ambassador to Switzerland on September 7, 2009 .

From March 2016 he was the first deputy foreign minister and since 18 September 2019 he has been the foreign minister of Kazakhstan.

Personal

Tileuberdi is married and has two children. In addition to Kazakh and Russian, he also speaks English, Korean and Japanese.
