Töleutai Ysqaquly Süleimenow ( Kazakh Төлеутай Ысқақұлы Сүлейменов, Russian Тулеутай Скакович Сулейменов / Tuleutai Skakowitsch Suleimenow * 1. October 1941 in Semipalatinsk , Kazakhstan SSR ) is a Kazakh politician and diplomat and since September 2005, the Director of the Kazakhstan Institute of Diplomacy. Before that he was Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister from 1991 to 1994 and then Kazakhstan's Ambassador to several countries.

He completed his training at the Polytechnic Institute in Karaganda and at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union . In the 1970s he worked for the Komsomol , the youth organization of the CPSU , and the Communist Party, among others , before he began studying at the Diplomatic Academy of the USSR from 1977 to 1980. Then Süleimenow entered the diplomatic service for the Soviet Union. 1981 to 1985 he was the Consul General of the Soviet Union in the Afghan Mazār-i Sharif .

From 1985 to 1988 he held an advisory post in the Soviet Foreign Ministry; until the collapse of the Soviet Union he was an advisor in the Soviet embassy in Iran . After Kazakhstan's independence, Süleimenow was appointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan , where he was foreign minister until 1994.

After Sulimenov was Kazakh Foreign Minister for four years, he became Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United States in 1994 and Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary (and thus also to Poland , Bulgaria , the Czech Republic , Slovakia and Romania ) in 1996 . In 2001 he was appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Belgium , Luxembourg and the Netherlands . At the same time he was in charge of Kazakhstan's ties to the European Union and NATO. From 2003 to 2005 he was the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Poland.

Since September 2005, Süleimenow has been Director of the Institute for Diplomacy and Vice-Rector of the Academy for Public Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
