Beibit Bäkiruly Atamqulow ( Kazakh Бейбіт Бәкірұлы Атамқұлов , Russian Бейбут Бакирович Атамкулов Beibut Bakirowitsch Atamkulow * 19th May 1964 in Uzun-Agach , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician. He has been Minister for Industry and Infrastructure Development since September 2019.

Life

Beibit Atamqulow was born in Usun-Agach in the Almaty region in 1964 . He studied at the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute in Alma-Ata at the metallurgical faculty, where he graduated in 1986. In 2000 he graduated from Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance .

After graduating from the Polytechnic Institute, he worked in the mining and metallurgical complex in Norilsk and was starting from 1985 in Chimkent on resident Bleiwerk in various positions, including as chief engineer and head of the Department for External Economic Relations of the company. From 1992 to 2006 he worked for various companies, including the first deputy general director of the metallurgical plant (now the ArcelorMittal steelworks ) in Temirtau . From 2006 Atamqulow was in the diplomatic service of Kazakhstan, initially as an advisor in the Kazakh embassy in Moscow and from 2007 as an advisor to the embassy in Iran . Between 2008 and 2010 he was the Consul General of Kazakhstan in Frankfurt am Main . On May 5, 2010, he was appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Malaysia . He held this post until July 2012 and became Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies in October of that year . After the dissolution of the ministry in August 2014, he also became executive secretary of the new ministry for investment and development. On August 8, 2015, he was appointed Äkim (Governor) of South Kazakhstan . Since October 7, 2016, he has been Minister of the newly established Ministry of Defense and Aviation Industry.

Atamqulov was appointed Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan on December 26, 2018. Since September 18, 2019, he has been the Kazakh Minister for Industry and Infrastructure Development in the Mamin cabinet .
