Usynaghasch ( Kazakh Ұзынағаш , Russian Узынагаш Usynagasch ) is a place in Kazakhstan .
geography
Usynaghasch is located in southern Kazakhstan about 30 kilometers as the crow flies from the border with Kyrgyzstan . The place belongs to the greater Almaty area and is about 40 kilometers from the city. The foothills of the Transili-Alatau rise in the south . Several small streams flow through Usynaghasch, which merge in the local area to form the Qarassu River, which then flows further north into the Kürti . Usynaghasch is the administrative center of the Audany Shambyl in the Almaty area .
history
In 1860, not far from today's location, a military conflict, known today as the Battle of Usun-Agach, took place during the war between the Russian Empire and the Kokand Khanate . A few hundred Russian soldiers under the command of Gerassim Alexejewitsch Kolpakowski defeated the 20,000-strong army of the Kokand Khanate. In 1870, today's place was founded as a Cossack settlement Kazansko-Bogorodskoje (Казанско-Богородское). He was later renamed Usun-Agach (Узун-Агач). In the 1930s, agriculture in particular developed in the region, with the result that mainly agricultural businesses came into being and as a result more people came to the village. Among other things, a school, a kindergarten, a hospital, a library and a cultural center were built. In 1935 a technical school was founded in Usun-Agatsch to train agricultural specialists.

At the 1999 census, Usynaghasch had 23,887 inhabitants. The last census in 2009 showed a population of 30,589 for the place. The extrapolation of the population resulted in a population of 39,919 as of January 1, 2020.

traffic
Usynaghasch is connected to the Kazakh highway network. The A2 , a motorway-like expressway, runs north of the village . This leads east to Almaty and in the opposite direction west via Taras and Schymkent to the Uzbek border near Tashkent . The A4 also runs through the village and runs parallel to the A2 in an easterly direction via Qarghaly , Üschqongyr and Qaskeleng to Almaty.
