The Conduriri district is located in the El Collao province in the Puno region in southern Peru . The district was formed on September 24, 1993 from parts of the Santa Rosa district. It has an area of ​​844 km². The 2017 census counted 2,700 inhabitants. In 2007 the population was 4277. The seat of the district administration is the 3950  m high village Conduriri with 633 inhabitants (as of 2017). Conduriri is located 60 km south-southwest of the provincial capital Ilave .

Geographical location

The Conduriri district is located northeast of the Cordillera Volcánica in the center of the El Collao province. In the northeast, the district extends up to 25 km to the southwest shore of Lake Titicaca . The longitudinal extension in east-west direction is 43 km, the maximum width about 30 km. The Río Ilave (also Río Huenque) crosses the east of the district in a northerly direction and drains the area.

The Conduriri district borders on the Santa Rosa district in the south and southwest, the Acora district ( Puno province ) in the far west, the Ilave and Pilcuyo districts in the north and the Huacullani district ( Chucuito province ) in the east .
