The Hante (also spelled Hantes ) is a river that runs in Belgium , Wallonia region and in France , Hauts-de-France region .

It rises in the Belgian municipality of Froidchapelle and generally drains to the northwest. It reaches French territory, which it flows through for about five kilometers in the Avesnois Regional Nature Park , then it again enters Belgian territory and flows into the Sambre after a total of 32 kilometers at Labussière , in the municipality of Merbes-le-Château as a right tributary . On its way the Hante crosses the Belgian province of Hainaut and the French department Nord .
