Abol Ghassem Pourevaly

Abol Ghassem Pourévaly ( Persian ابوالقاسم پوروالی; * 1896 in Tehran ; bl. - 1961 ) was an Iranian diplomat .

Career

He was trained at the School of Political Science in Tehran. In 1921 he entered the foreign service and was a judge at the court of the Foreign Office from 1922 to 1924. As a result, he became attaché, legation secretary, deputy head of the service, deputy head of department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran. From 1925 to 1927 he was the second class delegation secretary in Brussels . From 1927 to 1930 he was first class delegation secretary in Rome and Persian delegate at the International Agricultural Institute . He was then first class secretary of the embassy in Vienna, Prague, Budapest and Belgrade.

In 1931 he was delegated to the Ministry of Commerce as chairman of the commission for the issuing of import licenses. In 1933 he headed the Passport and Nationality Department of the Foreign Ministry and was appointed Legation Councilor. From 1934 to 1937 he was counselor and temporary charge d'affaires in Berlin , from 1938 to April 1939 he had exequatur as Consul General in Hamburg . From April 1939 to 1941 he was head of the Foreign Ministry's personnel department. In 1942 he headed the Iraq and Turkey department. Subsequently, he was office manager of the foreign minister.

In 1944 he was consul general in Jerusalem . From December 4, 1945 to December 1949, he headed the embassy in Bern, initially as chargé d'affaires, and on June 29, 1948, he was appointed envoy. He then headed the Iranian delegation to a committee of experts in preparation for a conference on passport issues and border formalities. He also headed the Iranian delegation to the FAO in Rome. He headed the Iranian delegation to the second session of the Commission in preparation for a trade conference and in preparation for the San Francisco Conference . He then headed the Iranian delegation to the United Nations Office in Geneva .

From December 1949 to 1954 he was Ministre plénipotentiaire in Beirut . From 1938 to 1956 there was no Iranian envoy in Buenos Aires , at times the Iranian envoy in Sao Paulo was also accredited in Buenos Aires. From 1956 to 1961 he headed the embassy in Buenos Aires and replaced Mostafa Samli as ambassador in Buenos Aires on March 26, 1958 .
