Abubacarr Marie "Ba" Tambadou (born December 12, 1972 ) is a lawyer and politician from the West African state of Gambia . 2017 he was appointed Minister of Justice and Attorney General ( Attorney General in the) Cabinet Adama Barrow appointed and remained until June 2020 Office.

Life

Tambadou attended Saint Augustine's High School in the capital Banjul from September 1987 to July 1992 . He then attended the University of Warwick abroad , in Coventry in the United Kingdom, from September 1994 to July 1997 . There he did a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). From February 1999 to July Tambadou made the barrister ( Barrister-at-Law, BL ) at Lincoln's Inn in London . He obtained his Master of Laws (LLM) ( International Human Rights Law ) from September 2001 to September 2002 at the School of Oriental & African Studies at the University of London .

Developments he made in February 2004 in International Humanitarian Law at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda ( United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, UNICTR ) in Arusha (Tanzania) and in June 2003 at the International Criminal Court at the University of Nottingham in Nottingham .

From 1997 to 1999 he worked as a lawyer in Gambia, then until 2000 as a public prosecutor. From 2000 to 2003 as a lawyer, from December 2003 he was employed as a lawyer at the International Criminal Court in Arusha, most recently from October 2012 as a special representative of the public prosecutor.

On February 7, 2017, Abubacarr Tambadou was appointed Minister of Justice and Attorney General in the Cabinet.

End of June 2020 reached Tambadou his resignation as of June 30 one, he returns at the UN court in Arusha (Tanzania) back where he was ever active and takes the post of General Registrar ( English registrar general ) one. President Barrow thanked him:

His successor was Dawda A. Jallow with effect from July 1, 2020 .

Tambadou is married. His brother, Sheriff Tambadou , is President of the Gambia Bar Association and had Adama Barrow sworn in as President of the Republic in Dakar.
