Production notes

On 5 December 2015, the publisher gave Bandai Namco Games the game on the PlayStation Experience of Sony Interactive Entertainment announced. A year later, the game was presented again by Bandai at the PlayStation Experience 2016. A trailer showed its playability and details on the main story. Although the game was developed exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR, Bandai Namco Games confirmed its development and launch for Windows and Xbox One as well as a multiplayer mode in January 2017. An official launch date was not announced, the game was announced for 2017. However, the release was postponed to 2018 by the developer on May 16, 2017, on the grounds that they wanted to deliver a product that was as flawless as possible and needed more time. At Gamescom 2018, another trailer was finally released, which announced January 18 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and February 1, 2019 for Windows PCs via Steam as the planned release date .

The script will be entrusted to Sunao Katabuchi, who has already worked with the Project Aces development team for the Ace Combat 4 and Ace Combat 5 games . The music is composed by Keiki Kobayashi, who was also responsible for previous parts of the series.

The game is based on the game engine Unreal Engine 4 and trueSKY - a real-time weather engine.
