Achim Kück

Achim Kück (* 1956 in Braunschweig ) is a German composer and jazz pianist who has also emerged as a big band leader.

Life

Achim Kück learned to play the piano in his childhood. After graduating from school, he studied music for ten years, including in Hanover at the then University of Music and Theater and in Cologne at the local music academy . The music teacher for jazz , rock and pop music completed his studies as a church musician in Hanover with an "A" exam.

Musicians like Bill Ramsey , Peter Petrel , Jörg Seidel or Reiner Regel , whom he accompanied musically and for whom he composed, arranged or also produced, were long-time companions . He has also performed with Romy Camerun , Sigi Busch , Gene Mighty Flea Connors , Lionel Hampton , Cynthia Utterbach, Hajo Hoffmann , Melva Houston and Bengt Kiene . As a pianist he was involved in the movie The Miracle of Bern .

As a composer, arranger and musical director, he continued to work at the State Theater in Hanover and other theaters in Lower Saxony. In the more recent past Kück has performed his compositions primarily with his own band. He can also be heard on albums by Joe Viera , Bill Ramsey and Peter Petrell.

In 1985, Kück began teaching at the Hanover Music School , of which he leads the big band. From 1999 to 2001 he worked as a lecturer at the Hanover University of Music and Theater . In addition, Kück led workshops in Lower Saxony such as for the LAG Jazz .

Achim Kück lives in Bennigsen .
