Life

After graduating from school, Bengt Kiene first completed an apprenticeship as a savings bank clerk in Alfeld (Leine) before studying social pedagogy in Hanover , and later psychology in Braunschweig and Konstanz .

While he took private acting lessons from 1987 to 1990 with Willi Schlueter and at the same time went through his vocal training with Matthias Gerchen , he already appeared as a founding member in the Hanoverian scene music cabaret Hammer & Harfe , when he became an actress in 1989 in the Theater der Jugend Dagmar Dreke met. Together with the pianist and composer Holger Kirleis, the two founded the artists' cooperative Hebebühne , to which the lyricist and reciter Oskar Ansull and others soon joined.

After Bengt Kiene had already appeared at the Expo 2000 world exhibition together with Holger Kirleis with chansons in the Kulturkaleidoskop Hannover event series, he appeared as a political cabaret artist with his own solo programs from the following year 2001.

In addition to engagements, for example in the Klecks Theater under Harald Schandry and appearances in the pavilion cultural center, Kiene has worked in and in productions such as "Crunchy Xmas - Christmas for marginalized groups", "Sentimental Journey" and "With my back on the wall" and created political music Cabarets, for example, the “Germany Trilogy” with titles such as “Everything stays better! - a Hartzreise "," Mittenrein! "and" Das Krisenfest ".

The following verdict on Bengt Kiene was found in the press office :

“His secret is the successful mixture of music and text, comedy and melancholy, theater and political cabaret, never just pleasing and always an emotional roller coaster ride. He is supported musically by Achim Kück , who skillfully sets and arranges Kiene's texts. "

In addition to appearances on established stages, Kiene also made public political statements, for example during the commemoration event for the 80th anniversary of the book burning in Hanover on May 10, 2013.
