Achim Reichert (* 1941 ) is a former Hamburg politician of the STATT party .

Life and work

Reichert grew up in Cologne on, made 1960 its Abitur and studied at the University of Physics . In addition to his studies, he operated a station for radio observation of artificial earth satellites from 1962 to 1968 , the results of which he fed scientific evaluation. A continuation of the activity failed due to lack of money. In 1969 he was in Geophysics with a dissertation on "azimuth variations in Satellitenpeilungen" to Dr. rer. nat. PhD .

Reichert worked for 25 years in large companies in the electrical, aerospace and aerospace industries in the areas of development, production , quality control and technical controlling . On January 1, 1989, the board of directors of AEG Aktiengesellschaft granted him power of attorney . In 1994 he left Deutsche Aerospace (DASA) as part of the “Dolores” restructuring concept, which involved considerable staff cuts and the closure of several plants. He then started his own business in the areas of management consulting , advertising and public relations , but did not actually take up this activity until after his political engagement in Hamburg had ended.

Reichert has been married since 1968 and has one son.

Political commitment

In 1993 Reichert moved with the STATT party around the founder Markus Wegner into the Hamburg citizenship . The party was only able to stay in parliament in the 15th electoral term from 1993 to 1997 . Reichert sat for his parliamentary group in the interior committee and deputy in the budget committee, 1994-1996 also in the parliamentary committee of inquiry "Hamburg police". By resigning MPs and redistributing the composition of the committee, he later represented the STATT party in the constitutional, legal and economic committee.

Reichert took part in the cooperation negotiations with the Hamburg SPD . The cooperation survived several crises and lasted until the end of the 15th legislative period.

After growing disagreements between party founder and parliamentary group chairman Markus Wegner and his group members as well as unsuccessful attempts to get along better, Achim Reichert was elected as the new group chairman at a group retreat in November 1994. Reichert only held this office for six months because Wegner and his parliamentary group colleague Klaus Scheelhaase left the parliamentary group in mid-1995 and the parliamentary group no longer had the minimum size of 6 members. The council of elders of the Hamburg citizenship recognized the remaining 5 members of the STATT party with the newly created status of a group with limited rights and financial resources. In accordance with this restriction, the parliamentary group leader Reichert became the speaker of the STATT party group. Reichert remained so, with two re-elections, until the end of the legislative period.

Despite the "unworthy spectacle" that STATT party had cast in the dispute over its founder Markus Wegner , Reichert and his colleagues as well as the nonpartisan senators nominated by the STATT party succeeded in moving a lot. Especially in the field of budget consolidation. Hamburg's First Mayor Henning Voscherau (SPD) also paid tribute to this .

In public debates, Reichert had repeatedly warned of neglect tendencies in Hamburg and cited the city hall-side access to the Jungfernstieg underground station as an example . In response to his impetus, Stephan Reimers , Director of the Diakonisches Werk Hamburg , implemented a new social project there from 1996–1998: the Hamburg City Hall Passage. It provides a wide range of services for citizens and tourists, primarily employs the long-term unemployed, and counteracts the renewed neglect of S-Bahn access.

When STATT party decided in September 1996 to run again in the 1997 general election, Reichert decided not to run again. At the end of 1998 he left the STATT party.

After moving to Baden-Württemberg for family reasons , Reichert was involved from 2002 to 2006 at the local and district level with the CDU and its SME and Business Association (MIT).
