Adam Astill (* in the UK ) is a British actor .

Life

Astill attended Manchester University . He played his first small roles, often with only a sentence or two of dialogue, since the late 1990s / early 2000s. Since then he has mainly worked for British television ; he acted in several television series .

In 2005/2006 he had an episode role in the British television series Eastenders . In 2008 he took on the role of Nigel Greenway in the British doctor series Casualty . This was followed by other series roles in Harley Street (2008) and in the soap opera Doctors (2008); in Doctors he played Dave Woodhouse, the fiancé of general practitioner Dr. Lily Hassan. In the British television series Mistresses - From 2008 to 2010, he played the role of Simon Bennett in all three seasons; He embodied the owner of the Autograph Events agency and head of the series character Jessica Fraser, who has a relationship with him.

In August 2010 Astill auditioned for the role of the orthopedic surgeon and surgeon (Consultant orthopedic surgeon) Dan Hamilton in the British hospital drama Holby City before. After another appointment with the production team, he received the role in October 2010; Filming began in November 2010. Asthill starred in the role of Dan Hamilton from February 2011 to July 2012. In an interview, Astill spoke of a “battle between his alter ego and his sexuality ”.

He had other episode roles in the British television series Crime Stories (2012; as a call center employee and work colleague Andy Collins), Father Brown - Always a Tick Ahead (2013; as Reverend Wilfred Bohun) and in the sitcom Toast of London (as Police -Constable Thomas Ledger).

Astill also took part in two German productions. In 2011 he played in the ZDF television film Herzensfragen from the Rosamunde Pilcher series alongside Karin Dor in the role of William, the nephew and blackmailer of Lady Claire Sherberton. In March 2014, Astill could be seen again on ZDF, this time in the Rosamunde Pilcher television film Evitas Revenge alongside Thomas Limpinsel ; he embodied the landscaper Freddie, the lawyer Winston's partner . Astill and Limpinsel were the first gay couple in a Rosamunde Pilcher film.

Astill lives (as of 2013) in Hitchin in Hertfordshire ; there he is patron of the Lesnick School of Ballet. In Hitchin he also had theater engagements at the local Market Theater. In 2004 he worked there as Lord Mayor of London Richard Whittington (circa 1354-1423) in the production of Puss and Dick , a stage version of the British fairy tale Dick Whittington and His Cat for adults. In 2005 he appeared there in a version of the fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in a three-person version for adults.
