Valentin Adama Diomande (born February 14, 1990 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian football player . The striker plays in Major League Soccer for Los Angeles FC and has been a Norwegian national player since 2015 .

Career

Adama Diomande was born in Oslo as the son of Ivorian immigrants. He played for the youth teams of Holmlia SK, Vålerenga Oslo and Lyn Oslo . He made his debut for Lyn on October 19, 2008 against Ham-Kam in the Tippeligaen when he was substituted on in the 86th minute. Since he was used only two more times in the next two years, he moved to the second division club Skeid Oslo in 2010 . At Skeid he scored eight goals in twelve appearances in half a year. After further short stays in Norway at IL Hødd and Strømsgodset IF , he moved to FK Dinamo Minsk in 2014 in Belarus . After a month at Minsk, his contract was canceled and he moved to Stabæk Fotball . Under coach Bob Bradley , Diomande scored 25 goals in 26 competitive appearances.

On September 1, 2015 Diomande moved to the English championship club Hull City . Due to an injury, he made his debut for the Tigers on December 12, 2015, when he came on for Chuba Akpom in the 1-0 home win against Bolton Wanderers in the second half . His club made it to the Premier League this 2015/16 season . He made his Premier League debut on August 13, 2016 against Leicester City . In Hull's 2-1 victory, he scored the opening goal with an overhead kick. In the 2016/17 season he scored two goals in 22 games. Hull suffered relegation this season. Also in the championship, Diomande only scored once in 16 appearances and finally moved to Major League Soccer at Los Angeles FC in May 2018 . There he also met his coach at Stabæk Bob Bradley. Diomande struck in the MLS. He started with nine goals in seven league games and was voted MLS Player of the Month in June . In the 2018 season he scored twelve times in 18 games and prepared four goals.

National team

Diomande made his debut for the Norwegian national team in qualifying for the European Championship 2016 against Azerbaijan on June 12, 2015 when he came on for Joshua King in the 79th minute .
