Chuba Amechi Akpom (born October 9, 1995 in Newham , London ) is an English football player . The striker is under contract with PAOK Thessaloniki .
Career
society
Akpom played in the youth of Arsenal FC from 2002 . He made his Premier League debut on September 14, 2013 when he came on as a substitute for Olivier Giroud in the 90th minute of the 3-1 win over Sunderland AFC . For the second half of the 2013/14 season he was awarded for a month to third division club Brentford , for which he played four games. On another loan to Coventry City , he came to six missions in the spring of 2014.
Since his return to Arsenal in March 2014, he has mostly played in the club's U21s, which play in the U21 Premier League . On January 1, 2015, he came on in the 2-0 defeat in the league game against Southampton FC in the 84th minute for Mathieu Debuchy and came on for his second Premier League appearance. At the end of March 2015, he was awarded for two months to the second division Nottingham Forest .
The 2015/16 season Akpom played on loan at the second division Hull City . After his return he played no role in the first team and was only used in the U23. In late January 2017, Akpom was loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the season , with whom he was promoted to the Premier League. A loan to VV St. Truiden followed in January 2018 .
In the 2018/19 season, Akpom moved to PAOK Thessaloniki in the Greek Super League and won the championship and cup double in his first season.
National team
Akpom came on February 15, 2011 in the 0-0 against the U16 national team of Slovenia for the first time for a selection team of the English football association . In August 2011, he made his U17 debut in a 4-0 win against the Faroe Islands . After five goals in 13 appearances for the U17s, he played for the U19 national team for the first time on September 6, 2012 in a 3-1 defeat against Germany . On September 5, 2014 Akpom made his first game for the U20 team in a 6-0 win against Romania .
