Adama Traoré (born February 3, 1990 in Bondoukou ) is an Ivorian football player . On April 8, 2014, he also became an Australian citizen.

Club career

Australia

Traoré began his career as a professional footballer in his home country with the École de Football Yéo Martial club . He later signed a three-year contract with the then A-League club Gold Coast United in the Australian state of Queensland . Because Gold Coast's license was withdrawn, Traoré moved on March 15, 2012 to the A-League team Melbourne Victory , where he signed a two-year contract.

Vitória Guimarães

On June 14, 2014, he joined the Portuguese association Vitória de Guimarães . At Vitória Guimarães he was used 15 times.

Basel

But he moved to FC Basel after just six months. There he was given a contract until 2018, with the option of an extension until 2019. For Traoré, his first season in Basel with coach Paulo Sousa ended successfully. The team finished the 2014/15 football championship for the 18th time as champions (for the 6th time in a row). Basel was also in the final of the Swiss Cup , which was lost to FC Sion 0: 3. During the second half of the season, Traoré played twelve league appearances and three cup games (including the final).

Under coach Urs Fischer , Traoré again won the championship title with FCB at the end of the 2015/16 championship and the 2016/17 championship . For the club it was the 8th title in a row and the 20th title in the club's history. They also won the cup competition on May 25, 2017 with three to zero against Sion and thus the double .
