The Admiral Essen ( Russian Адмирал Эссен ) is a frigate of the Admiral Grigorowitsch class of the Russian Navy in the "Project 11356M" version. It is named after the Imperial Russian Admiral Nikolai Ottowitsch von Essen and is part of the Black Sea Fleet .
The ship is the second of Project 11356 and has a displacement of about 4000 tons. The Admiral Essen reaches a speed of 30 knots and can stay at sea for 30 days without interruption.
