Adolf Boehm (painter)

Adolf Michael Boehm (born February 25, 1861 in Vienna , Austrian Empire , † February 20, 1927 in Klosterneuburg ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Life

Adolf Michael Boehm studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with August Eisenmenger (1830–1907), Carl Wurzinger (1817–1883) and Christian Griepenkerl (1839–1916). He was one of the co-founders of the Vienna Secession , which he left in 1905. In 1906 his name can be found in the directory of members of the exhibition catalog of the 3rd annual exhibition of the German Association of Artists in Weimar. He then took part in the development of the Klosterneuburg artists' association, the Klimt Group . He was a sponsor of Egon Schiele . From 1910 to 1925 he was a professor for nude and nature studies at the Vienna School of Applied Arts . a. Gustav Kurt Beck . He was also active in the arts and crafts in book art, furniture design and the manufacture of ceramics. In his works he used a pronounced ornamental style.
