Adolf Koelsch

Adolf Koelsch (born July 7, 1879 in Buch am Ahorn , Baden ; †  February 3, 1948 in Rüschlikon , Canton of Zurich ) was a Swiss biologist and writer .

Life

Adolf Koelsch was a native German and came from a pastor's family . He studied at the University of Heidelberg and received his doctorate there in 1900. He then worked as a journalist in Würzburg . In 1904 he moved to Switzerland and settled in Zurich . He wrote popular scientific works on botanical and zoological topics and wrote as a columnist for the features section of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung . He has also published novels , short stories and a biography of the narcosis pioneer William TG Morton . Adolf Koelsch, who lived in Rüschlikon from 1912 , also tried his hand at landscape painter and watercolorist .
