Adolf Niedhammer

Adolf Niedhammer (born April 26, 1878 in Blieskastel , † February 17, 1964 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Career

After studying and a. at the University of Freiburg i.Ue. , where he became a member of the student association Die Rodensteiner , he passed both state examinations in 1901 and 1904 and joined the legal state service of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1905 as a public prosecutor in St. Ingbert . In 1909 he moved to Illertissen as assessor and in 1913 came to Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in the same position.

During the administration of the Saar area under the League of Nations mandate between 1920 and 1935, Niedhammer was employed as a district administrator in the Homburg district . From 1935 to 1940 he was district administrator in the district of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse , was transferred to Munich in 1940 as senior government councilor and came to Saarbrücken in 1943.

From 1946 he worked at the Rhineland-Palatinate State Insurance Company in Speyer and retired in 1948.

Honors

As thanks for his long-term efforts, extraordinary services and his tireless advocacy for the welfare of the city of Homburg and its people, he was awarded honorary citizenship on June 4, 1958 as part of the city's 400th anniversary .
